The Content You Should Be Making in 2026
The algorithm hasn’t gotten harder. Attention hasn’t disappeared. Most brands are either, not making/posting any content at all, or using a social media strategy from 2016. It’s time to put the pretty pictures back where they belong and start making some changes in 2026.
Here’s what I’d be building in 2026 across the biggest niches to actually grow.
MEDICAL: Before and After with a storytelling component.
Start with the problem moment (pain, insecurity, fear)
Show the process (real, imperfect, human)
End with the life change, not the result. We’re going after a visible transformation AND and identity transformation… Show an example we can all see… and a story we can all feel. This sounds like “I used to cover my mouth every time I greeted someone, now I’m smiling on the inside and out” “With my back before I couldn’t stand up without sharp pain (show xray before and after) now I’m the mom I always wanted to be, picking my kids up, no pain..”
Add captions that narrate the journey in plain language
DON’T MAKE THIS MISTAKE: Resist the urge to beat everyone up with your brand… Let the results speak for themselves… the caption is where you can leave a hard call to action.
EDUCATION: Animated content - Learn from ZackDFilms
With over 3 Billion views and counting, this animation style is no longer limited to Zack, it’s a familiar teaching style that is very under used. Clear REAL human voice over followed by interesting information. If you are an educator across multiple niches I would challenge you to try this format.
One big idea per video
Fast visuals + motion text
Pattern interrupts every 2–3 seconds
End with a “Wait—did you know…?” hook
DON’T MAKE THIS MISTAKE: Trying to cram in too much… Be ok with the simplicity of one lesson. Don’t try to overstate… There are a large amount of educators who have 3+ reels crammed into one! Let it breathe.
MUSIC: Simplified (one instrument) and collaborative.
Strip songs down (acoustic, raw, real)
Duet or collab with adjacent artists -
Reinterpret trending songs your way.
Tag + cross-post every collab.
The opportunity here for growth is amazing,
DON’T MAKE THIS MISTAKE: Too many artists are concerned with their artistry vs. seeing their music how fans are consuming in.. amongst many other songs and artists. The artists that collab together win together. Hiphop figured this out early on with features… Not much has changed, except that hiphop artists are collaborating on social. I’m tired of seeing “featured artists” who aren’t even in the content promoting the song they’re featured in…
FAITH: Simple Truth + Physical Space Quotes
This is all about bringing these simple truths to the real world. Real signs, real basic. The days of the inspiration text overlay are dying… but the content inside the words is more valuable than ever. Bring the content to the audience in a new way by:
Capture handwriting this on a massive sign.
Spell it out with letter balloons.
Let silence do some of the work - Digitally impose the saying in a way that looks real / billboard.
Use people to reveal the information. The more involvement of real people in these concepts, the better.
DON’T MAKE THIS MISTAKE: Call to action vs. a sharable statement. I don’t want to share your youth group start times… I want to share good content.
SPORTS: Call-Out Challenges
It’s time to bring the trash talk to action. Geeze, that line def sounded like Ai.. but alas, it was from my brain… I’m SERIOUS here fam. I’m talking new rivalries could be formed because of this….
Call out specific names of athletes or teams
Issue simple, “I bet you can’t run faster than me” - 3 - 3 pointers back to back.
Encourage duets and responses (if fans want to join in they can.
Track the chain reaction publicly
I believe in the power of creating in community is soooo untapped right now. It’s why I’m releasing Rally, a video challenge app driven by a leaderboard… Enough of the robots dictated what we watch next, it’s time to level each other up. Real data, real numbers… https://rallysocial.io/
DON’T MAKE THIS MISTAKE: Not signing up for rally, duh…
MOVIES/TV: Big Stunts on a Budget
We work in a lot of film and TV projects, and we’re usually the ones pitching these types of ideas because of how effective they are at spreading on social media… and they typically get shut down for things like icnreasing ad spend or bigtime influencer collabs or some other easy way out… BUT LEST WE FORGET… Superman movie hung a superman from the empire state building, Marty Supreme - Timothee Chalamet stud ontop of the SPHERE… ok you may be saying these are huge budget items, so let’s look at some other simple options:
Flash mobs (underused right now)
Public performances - Severance did this installment driving millions of earned media impressions.
In-world moments from the film / what are the key locations from the project. How do we bring our marketing strategy to the real life for more earned media? - Telling the story on social media of how you did this in and of itself can bring a ton of awareness.
DON’T MAKE THIS MISTAKE: Big ideas take time, don’t not do one of these early, only to spend hundreds of thousand in last minute P&A - renting out a sports stadium on an off day costs less than you think with early notice with huge upside in a reel/TikTok viral moment.
FASHION: “Day 1 of Styling XYZ…”
PLEASE STEAL THIS IDEA… Day one of styling historic figures in 2026, the cast of Friends, FullHouse, Ex Presidents, Historic Figures.. Show how they would dress today, AI can help you bring this to life INSTANTLY. Make a collage moodboard and bada bing.
DON'T MAKE THIS MISTAKE: Make it a single… If you want to win with an idea like this… it needs to be a series, Day 1 until XYZ hires me, until a point that we can all rally behind.
COSMETICS: Stranger Makeovers
Approach respectfully
Focus on confidence, not perfection
Capture reactions and conversation
Tell the human story, not just the glow-up.
Massive upside here, especially for female creators… This idea is saturated on the male side for sure, but for the ladies?? The amount of individuals who would love to makeover who are working/commuting feeling under the weather is big.
DON’T MAKE THIS MISTAKE: Don’t stop filming, the key here is to keep the camera rolling, even when they are talking with you, you never know when you’re going to get their life story. Make sure to get their permission to post these, a simple release form signature at the end will make it legit.
FITNESS: Show and tell.
The trick here is to not talk, just point what and why it matters, out your exact actions, how many reps…. would look like a text bubble up top “The best workout set for great abs”
Clean visuals
On-screen text only
No voiceover - set it to trending music.
Loop-friendly edits
DON’T MAKE THIS MISTAKE: Going too long… Keep it short and sweet! Put information on each motion in the caption vs. over use of text
